Valdit Cookie Policy

Valdit uses cookies and similar technologies to provide our services and help collect data. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer's hard drive or in its memory. Cookies cannot damage your computer or any files stored on your computer.

Cookies enable websites to recognise your computer when you revisit them. Cookies are used for example, to remember the products you have put into your (online) shopping basket, or to remember your preferred settings for a certain service or website.

Through this Cookie Policy we are aiming to give you clear information about the cookies we use and why we use then.

We use cookies (and similar technologies) for instance to:

  • Store your Preferences and Settings, so that our services can operate correctly and to maintain your preferences over time. For example, if you choose the preferred language on the Valdit site, we will store that choice in a cookie on your device so that you will see the site content in your language, every time you use the site.
  • Help you Sign-in and Authenticate. When you sign in to Valdit, we store your unique user-ID and the time of your sign-in as an encrypted cookie on your device. With this cookie you can move from page to page within the site without having to sign in again on each page.
  • Improve our Services by gathering usage and performance data through Analytics. Using cookies we can collect information such as the number of unique visitors that make use of our web sites and services and which pages of our websites these visitors have visited.

We do not place any advertising cookies on your computer or device.

Some of the cookies we commonly use are listed in the following chart. This list is not exhaustive, but it is intended to illustrate the main reasons we typically set cookies. If you visit one of our websites, the site may set some or all of the following cookies:

In addition to the cookies Valdit sets when you visit our websites, third parties may also set cookies when you visit Valdit sites. In some cases, that is because we have hired the third party to provide services on our behalf, such as site analytics. In other cases, it is because our web pages contain content from third parties, such as videos, news content or maps. Because your browser connects to those third parties' web servers to retrieve that content, those third parties are able to set or read their own cookies on your device and may collect information about your online activities across websites or online services.

Most web browsers allow cookies by default, but provide you with an option to block or delete them. In Chrome you can for example navigate to Settings > Show Advanced Settings >, then in the Privacy section click on Content settings. In this section you will find the Cookies section where you can adjust your preferences. Please refer to your Browser's help documentation for instructions on blocking or deleting cookies.

Like in many other websites, certain Valdit features need cookies in order to work. Please be aware that if you choose to block cookies, you may not be able to sign in or use those features, and preferences that are dependent on cookies may be lost. If you choose to delete cookies, settings and preferences controlled by those cookies, may be deleted and may need to be recreated.

Valdit web pages may contain electronic images known as web beacons (also called single-pixel gifs) that we use to help deliver cookies on our sites, count users who have visited those sites and deliver co-branded services. We also may include web beacons in our promotional email messages or newsletters to determine whether you open and act on them.

In addition, Valdit services often contain web beacons or similar technologies from third-party analytics providers such as Google Analytics, which help us compile aggregated statistics about the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns or other operations. These technologies enable the analytics providers to set or read their own cookies or other identifiers on your device, through which they can collect information about your online activities across applications, websites or other services. However, we prohibit these analytics providers from using web beacons on our sites to collect or access information that directly identifies you (such as your name or email address). You can opt out of data collection or use by Google Analytics by clicking the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout (requires you to install a browser add-on).
